Programs & Services
HMA assists senior citizens with applications such as Disability & Medicaid. Seniors can gather together with new and past friends for events that provide an opportunity to create memories and new laughs.
Residents in Grant Township are able to visit the Emergency Food Pantry Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM to receive a monthly emergency food basket.
The Hoopeston Multi-Agency opens their doors to agencies in the area. We have office space available for those providing Counseling, working with groups, tutoring, and assisting others in the many facets of their life. We also have space for those that want to facilitate a training or hold a class. We have a very extensive list of partners and very pleased to be growing that list daily. Some of those that utilize our space and have partnered with HMA to help make our center a success include: The Vermilion County Mental Health 708 Board, United Fund of Grant Township, The Grant Township Food Cupboard, Crosspoint, Vermilion County Survivor Resource Center for Youth and Family Solutions, Department of Children and Family Services, Vermilion County Health Department, Aunt Martha’s, Rosecrance- Substance Abuse Treatment Center, CRIS-Healthy Aging, DACC Higher Learning Center of Hoopeston, The Community Center of Eastern Illinois, Work Source, Illinois Department of Human Services’ Division of Rehabilitation Services, Hoopeston Area Schools, Several local businesses, OSF, Gibson Area Hospital, Carle, and many other organizations.
HMA offers many other programs throughout the year such as: providing fans to those in needs, providing school supplies, offering Mental Health First Aid Trainings, providing fresh produce from local gardeners, faxing/copying, and much more.
Our volunteers have an enormous impact on not only the success of the Hoopeston Multi Agency but also on the health and well-being of our community members. HMA has a local attorney that volunteers at the agency helping with legal documents to those in need. There are several volunteers that come to the center to volunteer with our many programs. Many have asked to volunteer so they can stay involved in the community. We have reached out to the Hoopeston Area High School and invited their students to volunteer at the HMA. This not only teaches responsibility and allows the youth to give back to his or her community, it is also an excellent resume builder as they began preparing for their future. Volunteers are a vital asset to our agency.
The Hoopeston Multi Agency Service Center INC (HMA) offers transportation within the Hoopeston City Limits to our elderly, those with physical, intellectual, and/or mental challenges, and those that may be experiencing a difficult time in their life and have no other mode of transportation. The City of Hoopeston has no other form of public transportation, so the Van is the only opportunity for our patrons to visit their doctor, go to the hospital for test or visit a hospitalized loved one, grocery shopping, to pick up a prescription at CVS, shop at our thrift shop, or visit the many other retailers within Hoopeston. The van can also be used to keep our community members in touch with each other – for example, it can be used to meet a friend for lunch, go to a friend’s home, or even take a trip to the park.
