Volunteer Service

HMA helps seniors navigate complex Disability and Medicaid applications while also hosting social events designed to foster meaningful connections. The full suite of writing tools in Ace Browser can refine this tone even further to better reach your specific audience. There are a few more professional ways to structure these two distinct services to ensure they resonate.

Residents of Grant Township are welcome to visit the Emergency Food Pantry Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, to receive a monthly emergency food basket. Our pantry is here to provide support and help ensure individuals and families have access to essential food resources when they need them most.

Our volunteers are an essential part of the Hoopeston Multi-Agency Service Center (HMA) and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. From assisting with copying documents to supporting our many programs, volunteers generously share their time and talents.

HMA also welcomes local high school students, giving them an opportunity to build responsibility, gain valuable experience, strengthen their resumes, and give back to their community. Our volunteers are a vital part of helping HMA serve and support our community.

Transportation Services

Information, Programs, & Partners

The Hoopeston Multi-Agency Service Center, Inc. (HMA) provides transportation within the Hoopeston city limits for senior citizens, individuals with physical, intellectual, or mental challenges, and community members who may be experiencing a difficult time and have no other means of transportation.

Because Hoopeston does not have another form of public transportation, HMA’s van plays an essential role in helping community members stay independent and connected. Transportation is available for important needs such as doctor’s appointments, hospital visits and testing, visiting loved ones, grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions at CVS, shopping at our thrift shop, and accessing other local businesses and services.

Our transportation service also helps strengthen connections within our community. Whether meeting a friend for lunch, visiting a loved one, or enjoying time at the park, the HMA van helps ensure that transportation challenges do not prevent our community members from staying active, connected, and engaged.

The Hoopeston Multi-Agency Service Center (HMA) welcomes local agencies and organizations by providing space for counseling, support groups, tutoring, trainings, classes, and other community services.

We are proud to partner with a growing network of organizations that work together to strengthen our community. Our partners include the Vermilion County Mental Health 708 Board, United Fund of Grant Township, Grant Township Food Cupboard, Crosspoint, Youth and Family Solutions, Department of Children and Family Services, Vermilion County Health Department, Aunt Martha’s, Rosecrance, CRIS Healthy Aging, DACC Higher Learning Center, Community Center of Eastern Illinois, WorkSource, Illinois Department of Human Services, Hoopeston Area Schools, local businesses, OSF, Gibson Area Hospital, Carle, and many others.

Throughout the year, HMA also offers programs and resources such as providing fans and school supplies to those in need, Mental Health First Aid training, and fresh produce from local gardens. Through these partnerships and programs, HMA continues to connect community members with the resources and support they need.
